Summary

You can delete your account yourself from inside the app — no need to email us.
Account deletion removes your profile, customer records, jobs, certificates and Boiler Passport data within 30 days.
Some records are kept for a legal minimum (e.g. payment history for HMRC tax compliance — up to 7 years).
You can also email boilerfixai@gmail.com to request deletion or partial data erasure.
This is your right under UK GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure).

1 Delete your account from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your BoilerFix AI account and all associated data is the in-app deletion flow:

Open the BoilerFix AI app (iOS, Android, or web at boilerfix-ai.co.uk) and sign in.
From the dashboard, tap 👤 Account in the top header.
Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
Tap Delete my account.
Confirm by entering your password and typing DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the confirmation field.
Tap Permanently delete.

Your account is deleted immediately. Backend data (job records, customer entries, certificates, Boiler Passport records) is removed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email.

2 Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, or if you want to delete some but not all of your data (for example, only your customer records, or only your bookkeeping history), email us:

We respond within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.

Please include in your email:

The email address on your BoilerFix AI account
Whether you want full account deletion or partial deletion (and if partial, which data)
Your Gas Safe registration number (so we can verify it's your account)

3 What is deleted and what is kept

When your account is deleted, the following applies:

Bookkeeping data (invoices, expenses, receipts)	Deleted	Stored on your device only — clearing the app or browser removes it.

Payment / subscription records	Kept	Up to 7 years — required by HMRC for tax compliance (Stripe / Apple / Google billing records)

4 Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Erasure (Article 17) — ask us to delete your personal data, subject to lawful retention exceptions (tax, fraud prevention).
Access (Article 15) — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification (Article 16) — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Portability (Article 20) — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Object (Article 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
